Pilgrim Church has a very special Sister Church Relationship with Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Jamaica Plain. We recently celebrated the tenth anniversary of the relationship between our suburban church and Bethel AME, one of the largest African-American Churches in Boston. We regularly share services, swap pulpits and seek new ways to build a bridge between our two faith families. Click here for directions to Bethel's new campus.
Metrowest Interfaith Hospitality Network (MIHN)
The Metrowest IHN is a cooperative, interfaith partnership offering hope to homeless families with children in the metrowest region just outside of Boston. In a typical Interfaith Hospitality Network, half of the guests are children, most of whom are under six years of age. The network is made up of 13 area churches which take turns serving as transitional shelters for homeless families for one week at a time, as they seek permanent housing. Pilgrim Church is a charter member of this new network. We hosted our first family in the beginning of October, 2008.
RHINO stands for Rebuilding Hope in New Orleans. Pilgrim partners with the St. Charles Avenue Presbyterian Church in New Orleans, that organizes and sends out visiting church groups to help in the re-building of homes. Pilgrim Church sends a group of about 14 adult workcampers to the Big Easy once a year. For more information please visit the RHINO website.
